If you are eligible for the RSV (Respiratory syncytial virus) vaccine we will be in contact with you.
RSV vaccine is a new vaccination for 75 -79 year olds and for pregnant women, although your midwife should offer this from 28 weeks.
RSV is an infectious disease that affects the airways and lungs. It often causes symptoms similar to a cold, including:
– Cough
– Sore throat
– Sneezing
– A runny or blocked nose
– Some people, particularly in higher-risk groups, may require hospital admission .
A single dose of the vaccine will help boost protection as you reach an age group or condition at higher risk of serious RSV infection. Unlike the flu vaccine, the RSV vaccine does not need to be taken every year.
We have allocated RSV clinics and we will monitor how clinics are filling and additional clinics will be added dependent on uptake.
Please DO NOT call the reception team regarding alternative appointments as they will be unable to accommodate your request.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
